The Evidence Room is Bury St Edmunds’s first permanent and independent escape room. Since opening in 2018, we have been challenging teams up and down the country to uncover hidden clues, decipher coded messages and tackle cunning puzzles in our immersive escape rooms.

With three escape rooms on offer, each designed to test your logic, teamwork and patience, you’ll need to have your wits about you as nothing is quite as it seems at The Evidence Room! The Future Room is an intense immersion in an 80s vision of years to come. Meanwhile, sacrifice is imminent in The Aztec Room, unless you find a way to appease the gods. Or head to the country mansion of a notorious East End gangster in 1967. You and up to 7 detective friends must find the evidence to convict him of his crimes, before he returns in one hour!

What is an escape room?

An escape room is a real-action activity where you and your team (friends, family, colleagues, couples, hens, stags, classmates) try to solve a series of puzzles within an hour to achieve a goal – whether that’s to convict a criminal mastermind in The Gedding Room, make your way back to Earth from The Future Room or to escape sacrifice in The Aztec Room.

Part immersive theatre, part brain training, an escape room is as fun for first timers as serial puzzlers, for the open minded or the empty headed. So give it a try for yourself!

How many escape rooms do you have?

We currently have 3 escape rooms open: The Gedding Room, The Future Room and The Aztec Room. Check our Make a Booking page for more details and what to expect!

How many people can play at The Evidence Room?

We can take up to 6 people in each of The Aztec Room and The Future Room, and up to 8 people in The Gedding Room. So groups of up to 20 can play at the same time, and we can accommodate larger groups with multiple time slots!

Can youngsters play?

Yes, we have lots of young players all the time and they love it! However, our rooms are not safe for players under 9, and all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Is the room actually locked?

No, you can exit the room at any time.

Are the rooms wheelchair accessible?

The Future Room is currently wheelchair accessible, The Aztec Room and The Gedding Room are unfortunately not.

Is it scary?

Scary how much fun you’ll have! But no, the theme of the rooms shouldn’t be too frightening.

Can we rearrange our booking if we need to?

Yes! We are happy to rearrange any bookings for up to 24 months after the original booking.

Can we eat or drink in the room?

No, sorry! You’ll have to finish up your snacks and drinks before you get here.
